The Centre

KU Sunbeam Preschool, located in Alexandria, is a community based centre who have a passionate team caring and educating children between 2 to 6 years of age. KU Sunbeam is an inclusive environment where children feel they belong and has specially designed indoor and outdoor spaces which encourage children to explore and learn within a nurturing environment.

KU Sunbeam Preschool has been independently assessed by the Department of Education NSW under the National Quality Standards, and are proud to be rated as Exceeding the National Quality Standard.

The Role

We are looking for a fully qualified and experienced Early Childhood Teacher who is strong in curriculum development and pedagogy, and a critical thinker with the passion and capability to work in a dedicated team. This is a permanent part time position, working every Thursday & Friday for 8 hours per day.

*Knowledge in Circle of Security is highly desirable but not essential.

What we're looking for?

We want you to be as passionate about early childhood education and as committed to achieving positive outcomes as we are. In addition you will have:

  • A current NSW Working with Children Check.
  • Work rights to enable you to work in Australia
  • A recognised Early Childhood Teaching degree level of qualification in Early Childhood or similar as approved by Australian Children’s Education and Quality Authority (ACECQA)
  • Teacher Accreditation through NESA
  • Completed training in Child Protection legislation and its implications for the care and protection of children
  • Sound understanding of the Education and Care Services National Law (2010) and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011) and how they apply in your state
  • Working knowledge of the Early Years Learning Frameworks (EYLF) 
  • Professional level of written and verbal communication skills
  • A current Senior First Aid certificate as approved by ACECQA including current approved Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management
  • Demonstrated computer literacy skills
