Child Care Cook | KU Children's Services - Victoria

This is an excellent casual position to nurture a love of food in children aged 0-5 years old as you prepare their meals from scratch and become a key part of the team. We have Services in the following locations: Melbourne CBD, Docklands, Craigieburn, Tullamarine and the Alfred Hospital.

As a Casual Child Care Cook, you will:

manage the kitchen,
order stock (from preferred suppliers for fruit, vegetables and groceries)
plan and prepare all menus from scratch
assist in small group experiences with the children and introducing them to the wonderful world of cooking
Ensure health and safety standards are maintained at a high standard at all times, meeting council health audits
The friendly and supportive team will work closely with you on special requirements.

To be successful in this position you will:

be a qualified Cook with a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent) OR
hold food safety and food handling qualifications
be a passionate cook who loves instilling a passion for food in young people
Hold or be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check.
