The role

This is a perfect opportunity for a Diploma Qualified - Advanced Child Care Educator to join one of the leaders in early childhood education. KU Children's Services provides our staff with the expertise and the support and it is this wealth of knowledge and experience that allows KU to enrich the lives of more than 15,000 children and families each year through over 140 services and programs.

This leadership position will suit someone looking to build on their experience, so if you have a bubbly personality, adaptable to your work environment and have a firm grasp on child development and the A&R process and how this impacts the success of the centre, we'd love to hear from you. 

On offer is a permanent full-time role commencing shortly, which will see the successful educator working Monday to Friday 7.6 hours per day on school terms.

The Centre

Located in the leafy lower North Shore of Sydney, KU Greenwich Preschool provides high quality education and care for young children and their families, which is reflective of the National Quality Standards and the Early Years Learning Framework. The centre is rated as 'Exceeding' the National Quality Standard with an expansive outdoor nature play area and thriving veggies patches. Ample street parking is available near the service. 

The impact you’ll have

  • work as a member of a co-operative team in order to provide an appropriate educational program for the children within her/his care.
  • ensure that children’s developmental plans are documented, planned, implemented and evaluated.
  • ensure that up to date records are maintained for each child under that persons care.
  • direct responsibility for the management of a group or groups of children.
  • ensure that the policies of KU and the funding authorities are implemented in providing appropriate care and educational programs for children.

What we’re looking for?

We want you to be as passionate about early childhood education and as committed to achieving positive outcomes as we are. In addition you will have:

  • A recognised Diploma level of qualification in Children’s Services or similar as approved by Australian Children’s Education and Quality Authority (ACECQA).
  • Current NSW Working with Children Check.
  • Work rights to enable you to work in Australia.
  • Sound understanding of the Education and Care Services National Law (2010) and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011).
  • Working knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework.
  • Professional level of written and verbal communication skills.
  • Current knowledge of Child Protection legislation and its implications for the care and protection of children.
  • A current First Aid certificate which includes Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management training.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy skills.
